With a sturdy clamp ammeter is a reliable and versatile measuring tool for both home users and electricians, craftsmen, and maintenance technicians. With this meter, you can quickly and easily measure AC voltages on electrical circuits without turning them off, or check DC circuits in cars, for example.
With the compact BE44 current clamp, you’re always safe when measuring AC voltages up to 750 volts. Since you use the current clamps to enclose the conductor, the measuring device detects the presence of voltage non-contact by measuring the electromagnetic field. This “galvanic isolation” prevents direct contact with the circuit under test, allowing you to perform tests even on live systems.
In addition, the test unit can measure current up to 1,000 A in both direct and alternating current and measure DC voltages up to 1,000 volts; both can be set either manually or using automatic range selection. Since this also allows for testing a car’s DC electrical system, the BE44 current clamp, for example, is the ideal measuring tool for passionate car enthusiasts and automotive professionals.

The BE44 has all the usual standard measurement functions, such as resistance, duty cycle, and frequency measurement, which you can easily select using the convenient rotary switch. You can view additional information on the LCD screen: The bar graph indicator shows how close you are to an electrical conductor or its electric field.
A diode tester and continuity test also allow for reliable testing of, for example, a vehicle’s electrical system.
All measurement results are displayed on a backlit 1.8-inch LCD screen. This clip-on ammeter also features functions such as the HOLD function, polarity and overload indicators, and a MIN/MAX display.
In addition, the BE44 ensures trouble-free use thanks to its battery-saving automatic shut-off feature and screen that turns off when the battery is low, as well as an LED light integrated between the two jaws of the pliers, which allows for safe work even in poor lighting conditions.
