FRS150-300 Adsorption Air Dryer -20°C to +40°C 13.68–26.4 l/24h
The FRS series of air dryers are ideal for smaller applications that require efficient humidity control and long-term reliability. A special design that allows for very easy access to all maintenance and installation components.
The principle of sorption drying is based on the continuous adsorption of moisture from the air by a rotating rotor. The moisture is discharged through the wet air outlet.
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION The
dehumidifier operates using two air streams; the main stream consists of the air being dehumidified, while the second stream—of low capacity—is used to regenerate the dehumidification rotor.
The fan inside the dehumidifier creates two air currents that flow through the rotor in opposite directions.
The air being dried—also known as “process air”—passes through silica gel impregnated into the drying rotor. Silica gel is a highly hygroscopic material that absorbs water vapor from the air.
As the air passes through the rotor, it releases its moisture content. The dried air is then directed to the production area or the drying process. The moisture removal process can take place at temperatures ranging from -30°C to +40°C.
STRUCTURE
The dehumidifier is constructed of galvanized steel and AISI 304 stainless steel. The top panel can be removed for maintenance of the electrical components and all other internal mechanical parts.
FANS
The fans are directly connected to single- or three-phase motors rated IP55, ISO F, Class B. They can be serviced by removing the top panel, which is secured with
. The process and regenerator fans immediately begin removing moisture from the system.
ROOTOR
The desiccant rotor installed in the air dryer is currently the best available on the market, offering approximately 8% better moisture removal capacity
and a 25% lower pressure drop than leading competitors. The rotor features a finely shaped design made of corrugated, heat-resistant
material, providing a vast contact surface area for the process airflow within a very small volume. The curved and laminar nature of the design ensures a high airflow through the contact surface to maximize moisture removal.
Saturated air does not affect the rotor, and therefore it can be used in conjunction with a pre-cooling coil. Furthermore, the rotor cannot be damaged if
either air flow stops for any reason. The rotor does not emit particles or support flame propagation (non-flammable).
NEXT SYSTEM
A belt drive system is used to rotate the rotor. This motion typically ranges from 6 to 12 revolutions per hour and uses a powerful direct drive and a
gearbox that operates on a belt with frictional contact against the outer edge of the rotor drum. A belt tensioning system is used to maintain the correct belt tension
and prevent slippage.
REGENERATIVE AIR
Electric. The electric regeneration battery features self-regulating PTC elements combined with a modulating power supply system to increase the air dryer’s efficiency and save energy.
FILTERS
The dehumidifier has two separate G2 filters: one for the process air inlet and one for the regeneration air inlet.
ELECTRICAL PANEL
The electrical panel is manufactured in accordance with European Directives 73/23 and 89/336. Access to the electrical panel is gained by removing the top section
of the unit’s panel. All units come standard with the following components: a main switch, an ammeter, and a hygrostat plug with an external connection.
