Ozone treatment of interiors is an effective and proven method for disinfecting large areas or effectively eliminating the effects of unpleasant odors following fires and water damage.

However, until now, after each treatment, it was first necessary to wait for the ozone concentration to decrease over a long period of time, during which the unoxidized ozone in the room slowly decomposes naturally back into oxygen. It is only safe to re-enter previously treated rooms once the specified threshold levels have been reached.

In the case of natural decomposition without technical oxygen regeneration, ozone’s specific half-life determines the decomposition process. Indoors, under typical conditions, the half-life of ozone is usually 30 to 60 minutes. The larger the treated space and the higher the ozone concentration, the higher the ozone concentration in the room and the longer the natural decomposition process takes.

Another factor, particularly in the context of regular disinfection work in the same rooms, is that reducing the amount of reagents used in the process inevitably leads to progressively longer phases of ozone depletion, i.e., the waiting period until safe reuse is possible becomes longer, and thus the use of the application becomes increasingly costly.

Although effective cross-ventilation can also accelerate the depletion of the ozone layer, the treated spaces are rarely equipped with the necessary ventilation options—for example, hotel rooms with locked windows or windowless basements, storage rooms, and archives.

The longer treated spaces cannot be reused, the greater the loss of usability. The Zerozon 200, a one-of-a-kind oxygen regenerator, is an innovative solution for accelerating the recovery of the ozone layer following ozone treatment with Airozon® Professional Series disinfection devices.

The Zerozon 200 enables the technical regeneration of oxygen in rooms contaminated with ozone, thereby significantly accelerating their economic reuse. Rooms in which ozone has been broken down using the Zerozon 200 can, depending on operating conditions, be safely entered and reused in one-tenth of the time that would be required for ozone to break down naturally!

A unique master-slave solution for accelerating the ozone layer—available exclusively from Trotec

The Zerozon 200 was specifically designed for use with all ozone disinfectants in the Airozon® Professional series. For this purpose, the Zerozon 200 is connected to a special power supply and control panel designed for the Airozon® Professional device, enabling the synchronized, combined operation of both devices. Alternatively, the Zerozon 200 can be used independently.

During combined operation with Airozon®, the Zerozon 200 automatically shuts down the connected Airozon® unit once the set treatment time has elapsed and automatically initiates technical oxygen regeneration. For this purpose, the Zerozon 200 can be equipped with high-performance special filters that cause rapid catalytic decomposition of ozone.

This special ozone decomposition process, which uses the Zerozon 200 and Trotec’s original catalytic filters with a fleece coating, enables a decomposition process that is up to 10 times faster than natural decomposition!
