The Trotec BZ 30 is a CO₂ air quality monitor—ideal for monitoring air quality at home, in work, living, or classroom spaces, in gyms, daycare centers, offices, and production facilities. It’s also a great tool for architects and HVAC technicians.
The BZ 30 carbon dioxide meter measures carbon dioxide concentration, air temperature, and humidity, and stores up to 50,000 measured values in its memory. The measurement interval can be set to any value between 1 second and 12 hours.
The device can be connected to a computer via a USB cable, and the included software analyzes the stored data.

Carbon dioxide is a colorless gas that is also odorless at low concentrations. At high concentrations, carbon dioxide has a sharp, acidic odor.CO2 can cause suffocation and irritation. Breathing in air with a high concentration of carbon dioxide can cause a sour taste in the mouth and a stinging sensation in the nose and throat. This sensation can also occur when suppressing a sneeze or after drinking a carbonated beverage.
The atmosphere is the Earth’s largest reservoir of carbon dioxide and plays a very important role in the global carbon cycle. The atmosphere consists of 0.04%CO2, which amounts to approximately 720 gigatons by volume. Atmospheric carbon is a major contributor to the greenhouse effect and causes changes in the global climate. Since the Industrial Revolution, the concentrationof CO2 in the atmosphere has risen from 280 ppm to 400 ppm.
SinceCO2 dissolves in water, its concentration in the oceans has also increased. This causes changes in the chemical properties of seawater and leads to ocean acidification (a drop in the water’s pH level). Changes in the chemical properties of water can have serious consequences for organisms with calcareous skeletons.
