- 4-stage filter system — The Coway Storm features a pre-filter that captures larger dust particles and pet hair from the air. It should be cleaned regularly and does not need to be replaced. Behind the pre-filter is a carbon filter that removes skin flakes from people and pets, pollen, mold spores, and dander. The granular activated carbon filter removes odors and volatile chemicals, such as formaldehyde, that are emitted by indoor materials and furnishings. It also removes food odors and chemicals emitted by cleaning products. The Anti-FLU HEPA filter removes pathogenic viruses and bacteria, cigarette smoke, fine dust, and other harmful substances from the air. The filters last 6–12 months, depending on the level of pollution in the air.
- Particle Sensor – The Coway Stormil features a sensitive particle sensor that continuously measures the air quality in the room. When the unit is in automatic mode, the fan speed is automatically adjusted based on the air quality readings from the particle sensor. The sensitivity of the particle sensor can be set to one of three modes (high, medium, or low), with medium being the factory default setting.
