The RAS-60 air purifier is designed for use in rooms where the air needs to be purified of unpleasant odors, volatile substances, cigarette smoke, mold, bacteria, viruses, and allergens.

By using photocatalytic oxidation with a UV lamp and a photocatalytic plate, the air is effectively purified without the use of filters; this does not require a strong airflow, allowing the device to operate quietly.

Active purification of plasma air using advanced UV/photocatalytic technology

Unlike conventional air purifiers, where air purification and filtration take place only within the device, the RAS-60 actively purifies and sterilizes the air throughout the entire room. The use of ultraviolet light in combination with photocatalysts kills microorganisms in the air and oxidizes odors and volatile substances.

Ultraviolet light penetrates the cell wall of an organism and reacts with its DNA. The C=C carbon bonds in the organism’s molecules break down. This leads to cell death, which means the organism can no longer grow or reproduce.

This technology is also known as plasma or active air purification; it combats pollutants at the molecular level, in contrast to passive air purification, where filters are used to combat pollution. The purifying effect of these ions is active throughout the entire room and even penetrates porous materials.

The release of oxidizing agents triggers an oxidation process in which bacteria, viruses, microorganisms, and fungi are oxidized, while the oxidizing agents themselves are simultaneously oxidized into oxygen and hydrogen. The system is also effective against volatile substances, such as formaldehyde in cigarette smoke and unpleasant odors. Pollutants and oxidizing agents balance each other out, resulting in clean, odorless air.
