Based on testing by KCL (Korea Conformity Laboratories), Coway air purifiers capture dust, pollen, dander, viruses, and bacteria. They have been tested in a 30 ㎥ chamber in accordance with the Korean Air Cleaner Association standard (SPS-KACA 002-132:2018, modified) to measure the particle removal rate for particles as small as 0.01 ㎛. The test was conducted at the fan’s maximum speed under normal room temperature and humidity conditions. Performance may vary in customers’ actual living environments.

Tested models: 150, 160, AP-1216L, AP-1512HH, AP-1512HHS, 200M, Icon, IconS, 230, 240, 250, 250S, 300, 300S, 400, and 400S.

² Based on testing conducted by Japan Food Research Laboratories (JFRL) in accordance with the JEM 1467 standard, it was verified that Coway air purifiers equipped with a Green True HEPA™ filter remove 99.9% of viruses, bacteria, fungi, and pollen from the air.

All were tested by JFRL, and the results shown above were obtained in a short period of time.

– Virus: Tested with Escherichia coli phage ΦX174 NBRC 103405, 60 minutes
– Bacteria: Tested with Staphylococcus epidermidis NBRC 12993, 60 minutes
– Fungi/mold: Tested with an extract of Penicillium citrinum NBRC 6352 test pollen

³ Aerosol tests were conducted in a Biosafety Level 3 laboratory using two Coway air purifier models—the Coway Airmega 250 and 400—to remove SARS-CoV-2 aerosols. The tests were conducted by MRI Global, a nonprofit laboratory and partner of the U.S., a nonprofit laboratory and partner of the U.S. Department of Defense. . The test was conducted in a 13.1-foot³ chamber. The virus was aerosolized for 15 minutes, and the product was turned on for 2 minutes. The results showed that each product effectively removed over 99.98% of SARS-CoV-2 within 2 minutes. This is based on laboratory test conditions, and results may vary under different conditions. This result does not mean that it kills SARS-CoV-2 or prevents the transmission of COVID-19. The Coway Airmega 250S and 400S are identical to the tested models and offer equivalent performance along with an additional mobile connectivity feature.

⁴ FCG Research Institute, Inc.’s Human Life Science Lab demonstrated that concentrations of ammonia, acetaldehyde, and acetic acid were eliminated within 30 minutes. This is not a representative result for an actual living space. Not all odors and gases may be eliminated.
