A solar energy meter is a useful tool for studying the characteristics of solar cells. With a DC voltage range of 0–60 V and a DC current range of 0–12 A, the photovoltaic meter covers a wide variety of solar modules. The measured characteristic curves are saved directly to the solar module tester. The photovoltaic meter’s data memory can store up to 100 measurements. The stored measurement values can then be read out and further processed on a computer using the corresponding software. In addition, the photovoltaic meter can be fully controlled via software.
The solar energy meter has two different measurement functions for determining the characteristics of a solar module. In automatic mode, the photovoltaic meter generates a characteristic curve using automatic parameters. This gives the operator an initial impression of the solar module’s condition. In manual mode, the starting and ending current values can be set on the photovoltaic meter. Once the solar module’s area and the incident irradiance in W/m² have been entered, the photovoltaic meter can calculate the cell efficiency and fill factor. Another measurement function of the solar module tester is single-point measurement. A specific current can be controlled and monitored using the photovoltaic meter.
The solar energy meter has a 4.8-inch LCD screen. This means that the characteristic curve and all measured values can be read at once. To better analyze the characteristics, you can zoom in on each individual measurement point of the photovoltaic meter. To view the X and Y axes differently, you can switch between current, voltage, and power by pressing a button on the photovoltaic meter.
Due to its many different functions, the solar energy measuring device is ideal for studying the efficiency of solar modules. For this reason, the radiation detector is used in photovoltaic systems and research institutions to further develop solar modules. The radiation detector comes with an ISO calibration certificate.
