A probe thermometer is used to check the temperature of food. In addition to measuring surface temperature with an infrared sensor, a probe thermometer can also be used to determine internal temperature using a retractable resistance temperature sensor. The measurement range for both temperature sensors on the probe thermometer is -40 … 300 °C.
In addition to the standard display of the measured value, the probe thermometer features a temperature indicator. This indicator shows whether the measured food temperature is optimal. If the temperature is between 4 and 65 °C, a red LED lights up. If the temperature is below 4 °C or above 65 °C, a green LED lights up. This feature of the probe thermometer is particularly important for monitoring the appropriate temperature chain. For this reason, probe thermometers are widely used in the food industry.
The Bluetooth interface enables communication between the probe thermometer and Android and iOS mobile devices. Using the probe thermometer’s free app, you can save the measured values to your mobile device and export them for later analysis. To charge the measuring device, insert the probe thermometer into the designated charging station. If necessary, the probe thermometer can also be charged via a 5 V micro USB port.
