Intended Use
As far as is known, plate dryers with air circulation were originally intended primarily for drying localized moisture damage and water damage in concrete and stone structures. Today, however, the largest customer base consists of construction equipment rental companies and construction firms, as new construction methods allow for significantly faster moisture removal in new buildings. The rapid-drying method involves placing the unit on top of the wet structure, where an efficient airflow and the directed application of heat to the surface being dried initiate an energy-efficient drying process. This type of dehumidifier is typically used to dry out moisture damage in wet rooms, even for the rapid drying of large-scale critical water damage using multiple units, for moisture management during construction, and for the controlled removal of volatile organic compounds.
Activities
STR-600 The plate dryer maximizes the effective and linear flow of moisture-laden air across the surface of the structure. Thanks to the STR-600’s new, innovative frame structure, the heating elements simultaneously create a dual effect that heats the structure. After the air is heated, the process air is released evenly from the edges of the unit and moves toward the intake fan at the bottom. The slight negative pressure beneath the unit creates a highly effective drying airflow across the surface of the structure. The problems associated with uneven air circulation in previous-generation units have been resolved in the STR-600 through the use of a specially designed new type of air distribution plate within the base structure. The continuous airflow generated by negative pressure is effective both in drying processes and in the controlled removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). VOCs should be removed from both the structure and the room in an efficient and controlled manner; therefore, the negative-pressure ventilation beneath the unit, combined with the unit’s hose connection, effectively removes both moisture and VOCs.
Design
STR-600 During the development of this dryer, special attention was paid to air circulation, which is both linear and effective at capturing moisture. Thanks to new innovations in the base structure, there is no need to restrict the removal of moist air, and air circulation covers the entire base surface of the unit very evenly, quickly drawing moisture away from the surface of the structure. The unit is designed to stand upright on its own when placed on its side, facilitating unloading and storage of the dehumidifiers.
