pH Meter BW10
Accurately determines the pH value of acidic and basic solutions
The compact and handy BW10 pocket-sized pH meter is ideal for aquarium and plant enthusiasts as well as pool owners. But the BW10 is also a reliable companion for professional applications, such as measuring pH values for quality control in the beverage and food industries or for quick and reliable water testing.
Natural ponds have become increasingly popular in recent years. They are usually in a state of natural balance and do not require the addition of chemical additives. Nevertheless, regularly checking the pH level can help prevent unpleasant surprises. This is because filling the pond with rainwater or tap water can repeatedly shift the pH toward an acidic (pH <7) or alkaline (pH> 7) environment. Fish can tolerate a pH range of 6.5–8.5. Ideally, the pH of the pond water should be around 7 (neutral) and remain as stable as possible over time.
However, when it comes to swimming pools, maintaining the correct pH level—and therefore monitoring it regularly—is essential, especially if they are outdoors. If the water becomes too acidic or too alkaline, it not only has a negative effect on swimmers (burning eyes, itching). It also affects the durability of the materials used in the pool (corrosion, degradation of lime-rich materials, porosity, etc.) and the effectiveness of the added disinfectants.
Automatic calibration and temperature compensation: saves time and ensures high accuracy
Thanks to automatic temperature compensation and automatic calibration, the meter allows for accurate and rapid determination of pH values ranging from 0 to 14 within a temperature measurement range of 0 to 50 °C. The device comes pre-calibrated with a 3-point factory calibration, which can be performed at any time in a few simple steps using the included pH buffer solution kit. You can easily read the test result on the easy-to-read two-line display. The measured pH value is displayed—accurate to two decimal places—along with the water temperature. Therefore, a separate thermometer is not necessary.
The BW10 pH meter, optimized for practical use, features an easily replaceable pH electrode. The electrode and water temperature sensor are protected from damage by a removable protective cap. A convenient hold function eliminates the need to write down the last measured value. Automatic shut-off reduces power consumption of the four button-cell batteries included in the package.

The device is calibrated at the factory using a high-concentration salt solution. In practice, this often leads to the formation of salt crystals on the diaphragm electrode (fiber bundle). Visible deposits are completely normal for this type of pH measurement electrode.
They are harmless to the electrode, can be easily rinsed off with water, and do not constitute a quality defect!
