What does PM2.5 mean?
PM2.5 refers to inhalable fine particulate matter with a diameter of less than 2.5 µm. Due to their small size, these fine particles are considered a health risk because they penetrate deeper into the respiratory tract, the cardiovascular system, and the brain, where they can remain and cause damage. In the REVIHAAP project, the WHO concluded that particulate matter can, among other things, cause atherosclerosis, affect fertility, and trigger respiratory diseases in children.

Note: When the room is at its maximum size, the unit operates at the highest fan speed! To achieve the optimal combination of maximum air purification and minimal background noise, we therefore recommend that you plan for a room size approximately 30% smaller than the maximum possible when setting up the unit. This allows the unit to ensure effective filtration even at a lower fan speed.
* In advertisements, the maximum value is usually the “recommended room size” as advertised. To achieve a good balance between air pollution control and background noise, our recommended room sizes are based on a maximum noise level of 37 dB(A).
Intelligently controlled air purification in fully automatic mode
In addition to 5-level manual control of its air purification capacity, the AirgoClean® 170 E features a smart air quality sensor that responds to changes in indoor air quality in real time. The highly sensitive air quality sensor continuously measures particle levels and immediately detects even the slightest changes—so it can respond instantly with customized air purification. The unit’s airflow and filter performance are automatically adjusted to the required level to remove airborne particles from the room as quickly as possible.
Automatic Mode and Virus Filtering:
Do not use automatic mode when the device is being used to filter viruses. The built-in sensors only respond to air pollution caused by fine dust, pollen, or volatile organic compounds. The device cannot determine the viral load. It is possible that automatic mode will indicate “good” air quality even though the viral load in the room is very high. Therefore, when using the filter to reduce the risk of indirect infection, we recommend always setting the fan speed to the level required to meet the relevant circulation rate (air volume) requirements.
turbo mode
Turbo mode is primarily used for accelerated ventilation of a room where, for example, particularly rapid and effective purification of indoor air is needed in emergency situations. At the highest fan speed, the air is quickly purified to an optimal level. This allows for quick, easy, and high-quality purification of the air in meeting rooms, break rooms, or lounges. People with allergies who open a window to ventilate the room will find that pollen or dust has been filtered out of the air within a few minutes. In turbo mode, the AirgoClean® 170 E removes airborne pollutants and suspended particles from the room air at the highest air purification level, purifying it to an optimal standard.
Virtually silent operation in night mode
The low-noise night mode with dimming lighting (20 dB(A)) ensures clean, filtered indoor air even while you sleep. The airflow is adjusted fully automatically according to your sleep needs, and the air outlet is set to the lowest ventilation level.

Aerodynamically shaped air outlet slats
The aerodynamically shaped outlet slats of the AirgoClean® 170 E ensure efficient distribution of fresh air indoors, resulting in comfortable, draft-free air exchange. While conventional air purifiers blow filtered air into a room only vertically, the AirgoClean® 170 E distributes clean air evenly in all directions throughout the room. Horizontally oriented louvers allow clean air to flow through a large area of the surrounding air.

DACRON® Prefilter
DACRON® is the brand name for continuous filaments made of synthetically produced polyester, which are ideal for use as pre-filters in air purification systems due to their particularly hypoallergenic properties. Pre-filters made from this synthetic fiber are particularly tear-resistant, durable, and water-repellent. Even a synthetic-fiber filter reliably removes light to moderate odors, coarse household dust, and pet hair from indoor air.
