The MD200 magnetometer is ideal for measuring ferromagnetic metals—such as valve caps, fire hydrants, and metal manhole and tank covers—as well as for locating nails or magnets buried in soil, road surfaces, snow, or water.
With this easy-to-use MultiMeasure Professional series magnetometer, after just a very short training period, you can quickly and reliably locate hidden objects that would otherwise require measurements and excavation work to find.
MD200 – the ideal detector for cost-effectively locating hidden ferromagnetic objects in water and gas supply networks
The MD200 is fully operational within a few seconds of being turned on. Thanks to its sturdy ABS construction, dirt- and water-resistant membrane keyboard, and water-resistant, lightweight, ultra-strong carbon-fiber probe shaft, you can use this measuring device even in the most challenging conditions.
Scorching heat, freezing cold, or using the probe in rain or snow—the MD200 is specifically designed for these environments and ensures ultra-precise location tracking in any situation.
The MD200 can reliably locate ferromagnetic objects at depths of up to three meters and, as it approaches them, display them as numerical values and bar graphs on an easy-to-read backlit screen. In addition, an audio signal is emitted through the built-in speaker, with the pitch increasing in proportion to the signal strength.
Locating an object using the MD200 to measure magnetic fields
With two transmitter coils and four receiver coils, the MD200 is ideal for measuring changes in the Earth’s magnetic field. The measuring device responds with high sensitivity to even the smallest changes in the Earth’s magnetic field, such as those caused by ferromagnetic objects in the ground.
When approaching such an object with the MD200, the device indicates an increase in the signal both visually and audibly. For larger objects—such as manhole covers—the maximum values are generated at the edges of the object. You can then determine the exact location by rotating the magnetometer and comparing the signals.
