PCE-UFD 50 Paint Thickness Gauge

PCE-UFD 50 Paint Thickness Gauge

Paint Thickness Gauge for testing non-destructive materials / video recording of screen content / integrated DAC and AVG functions / A-scan display

A paint thickness gauge is used to test non-destructive materials. During testing with a paint thickness gauge, ultrasonic waves are transmitted through the test object via a probe. The ultrasonic waves reflect and scatter at the interfaces between different materials that have unequal densities and acoustic impedances. After determining the time it takes for the ultrasonic waves to pass through the test object, the ultrasonic testing device can be used to inspect welded joints, measure wall thicknesses, and locate defects in components.

With adjustable frequencies ranging from 0.5 to 20 MHz and sound speeds ranging from 1,000 to 15,000 m/s, measurements can be taken at depths ranging from 0 to 10,000 mm. DAC and AVG evaluation methods, display and probe delay, attenuation and amplification functions, export and report generation functions, and numerous other configuration options make non-destructive material testing with a color thickness gauge significantly easier. The tester features on-screen video recording. The software can then be used to retrieve data and generate reports. Configuration parameters can be adjusted using a rotary knob. The 5.7-inch color screen provides a clear display of test results.

The ultrasonic tester is a powerful measuring device designed for specific testing applications. Its robust and ergonomic design makes it suitable for use in industrial environments. Weighing just 1.1 kg, this paint thickness gauge can be used not only as a desktop unit but is also suitable for mobile use.

PCE Instruments’ accurate and affordable paint gauges, thickness gauges, surface testing devices, and film thickness gauges are used for testing materials, monitoring production quality, and inspecting automotive paint.Choose from a wide range of color gauges, micrometers, and other measurement instruments used for the non-destructive measurement of non-magnetic coatings, insulation layers, and dry film thickness (DFT) on black and/or colored metals, such as steel and aluminum.

A paint thickness gauge is an essential quality assurance tool for anodizing, galvanizing, and zinc-coating metal surfaces. Coating thickness gauges are also used to measure the thickness and uniformity of paint on used car bodies, revealing repainted areas, detecting hidden damage, and uncovering undisclosed accidents. This information is crucial for determining the true value of a used car. In addition, certain types of thickness gauges can measure wall thickness and determine the hardness of metals, plastics, and glass.
