TDS 50 M 9 kW Ceramic Fan Heater
Thanks to its high airflow and advanced PTC heating element technology, the powerful TDS 50 M rapid heater is ideal for quickly heating large, cool rooms.
Safety-tested, TÜV GS ID 1419046531
Whether in the workshop, living room, or workspace—the combination of sturdy construction, reliable performance, and a discreet design blends harmoniously into any environment, and thanks to the heat-insulated handle, it can be transported quickly and easily.
The TDS 50 M unit uses a built-in thermostat to continuously regulate the temperature to the desired level as needed. In the event of increased local heat, the heating capacity can be increased in two stages up to 9 kW. If necessary, the fan can also be used in pure fan mode without the heating function.
TDS 50 M Ceramic Fan Heater
The TDS 50 M is heated by a power source, but instead of a conventional heating element, this electric heater uses a durable ceramic PTC heating element, which—in a direct performance comparison—not only provides a more even flow of warm air and less noise —the ceramic PTC element also offers you many other advantages:
PTC ceramic heating elements are more durable than devices with heating wires. In addition, PTC heating elements automatically regulate energy consumption based on the ambient temperature and are therefore automatically protected against overheating. For this reason, PTC heating elements do not require a strong airflow to cool them, which allows for the installation of quieter fans that produce less noise.
Thanks to their large heating surface area, TDS-M fan-heating units therefore generate a pleasantly uniform, draft-free flow of hot air in a quieter manner. In addition, this technology does not burn dust, so it does not pollute the indoor air with additional fine dust—making it ideal for use in occupied spaces.
Safe operation, even during continuous use, is not an issue with the TDS 50 M: overheating protection is built-in, and the fan motor is equipped with thermal protection and an automatic restart function, which keeps the fan running for a limited time after the unit has been turned off to ensure safe cooling. As an added safety benefit, the integrated ceramic heating elements also enhance the stability of this fan heater thanks to their design.

Faster air heating—more consistent room temperature
, with PTC ceramic heating elements (A) Trotec fan heaters are characterized not only by their faster heating performance compared to conventional heater technology (B). Due to this process, there are also differences in the response behavior of the heating elements.
Although the thermostats on both devices are controlled by a two-point controller to maintain a preselected target temperature (orange), temperature regulation in devices with heating coils occurs much more slowly and with larger deviations from the desired temperature. This is due to the different electrical resistances of the heating elements:
When current flows through the heating coils, they always reach the same temperature after heating. To regulate the desired room temperature, the power is first turned off, allowing the coil to cool down, and then reactivated via the thermostat, so that it heats up completely again until the next shutdown, when the set target temperature has been reached.
This on-off process results in significantly greater temperature fluctuations than with ceramic heating elements, because, depending on the material, they have built-in temperature self-regulation. The hotter PTCs become, the higher their electrical resistance, which means that less current can flow through the heating element and its heat output decreases accordingly, resulting in significantly lower temperature fluctuations and, overall, fewer on/off cycles of the thermostat. Controlled operation.
For this reason, ceramic fan heaters can be used to create more uniform room temperatures for temperature-sensitive manufacturing processes and to provide a more comfortable working environment.
