HT stands for “high temperature,” as the PT 6500 HT portable air conditioner is specifically designed for such environments.
Extreme outdoor temperatures are not limited to T3 climate zones in the summer. Heat waves with very high temperatures are also becoming more frequent in previously more moderate climate zones. Conventional air conditioning systems quickly reach their limits here because, due to their design, they generally allow for targeted operation only up to a maximum outdoor temperature of +38 °C.

Although the housing is externally identical to that of its sister model, the PT 6500 S, all internal components of the PT 6500 HT’s compressor cooling system are designed for use even under extreme summer conditions at temperatures up to +55 °C and in conjunction with the compressor-based cooling system. The more powerful PT S+ heat exchanger ensures reliably constant cooling air in environments with temperatures ranging from +7 to +55 °C.
The PT 6500 HT’s special cooling system design ensures that this portable air conditioner can provide maximum cooling even under extreme temperature conditions, including in T3 climate zones. And with duplex cooling, the range of applications can be expanded to include environments as hot as +60 °C.
Powerful cooling technology for continuous operation in high-temperature environments
Numerous detailed design solutions attest to the durability and quality of this professional air conditioning unit. For example, particularly robust aluminum-fin heat exchangers with thick-walled copper tubes were installed, and the rotary compressor was mounted on vibration dampers to ensure maximum service life. In addition, all internal components of the compression refrigeration system are specifically designed for high outdoor temperatures of up to +55 °C, and a powerful radial-flow centrifugal fan ensures high-volume circulation of cool air.
After on-site setup, the PT 6500 HT is ready for use in just a few minutes. All it needs is a 230 V outlet, and connecting it to an external heat exchanger is quick thanks to the quick-connect fitting kit. Only water mixed with glycol circulates in the connection line, so there is never any loss of refrigerant when connecting or disconnecting the PT 6500 HT. And by combining multiple connection kits, the connection distance can be extended to up to 30 meters if necessary, allowing even more distant and windowless rooms to be cooled.

PT-series air conditioners have two separate refrigeration circuits. Since the indoor unit’s refrigerant circuit is hermetically sealed, a second circuit is installed between the cooling unit and the outdoor heat exchanger using a connection kit to cool the condenser and dissipate heat; this second circuit circulates only water with a low glycol content. As a result, it is essential that no refrigerant be lost during the professional connection and disconnection of the units.
To facilitate the rapid installation of waterand energy lines, these air conditioner connection kits are equipped with high-quality quick-connect fittings, allowing for the rapid creation of longer connections up to 30 meters in length, easily and neatly—ideal for offices, server rooms, and production facilities, as well as switching centers or studios, where there is usually no nearby option for heat dissipation.
Modular design – total cooling capacity
The PT 6500 HT indoor unit features a powerful refrigeration compressor with a hermetic refrigerant circuit. It cools the intake air to the selected set temperature and then returns it to the room as cooled air via a high-pressure radial fan. As an added benefit, the PT 6500 HT’s air recirculation mode ensures that no indoor air is drawn in and no negative pressure is created.
Due to the nature of the process, heat is also generated during the freezing process. To prevent this heat from re-entering the room air, the process heat generated in the condenser is transferred via a pump through a separate system—using the refrigerant circulating within it—to an external heat exchanger.
A connection between the indoor unit and the outdoor heat exchanger can be established very quickly using PT connection kits. They feature quick-connect fittings and allow for an installation distance of up to 30 meters between the indoor and outdoor units.
Only water with a low glycol content circulates as a coolant in the connecting lines; therefore, no coolant can be lost if the equipment is connected and disconnected properly.
In the outdoor unit, the refrigerant eventually flows through a large-surface-area heat exchanger, through which the drawn-in outdoor air is blown to absorb heat. Finally, the refrigerant, whose temperature has now been lowered, flows back through the connecting line to the indoor unit, where it absorbs heat once again.

Take advantage of the extended operating range of the PT 6500 HT air conditioner via duplex cooling, using the DualHex connection to connect two PT S+ heat exchangers in series via the connecting line instead of a single heat exchanger.
For the PT 6500 HT air conditioner, duplex cooling allows the upper limit of the operating range to be increased by ΔT 5 °C.
With this technology, the PT 6500 HT air conditioner can also be used in environments with temperatures up to +60 °C—otherwise, the unit will not operate at full capacity at lower temperatures.
In addition to the DualHex connection, an additional PT S+ type heat exchanger is required for the optional duplex cooling mode.
