PD200 Pulse Flow Meter
Compared to its predecessor, the PD100, the PD200 is extremely compact—the device’s size has been reduced by more than 30%! Its compact dimensions make it possible to transport the PD200 to the appropriate roof area using, for example, so-called safety ladders.
The PD200 pulse current measurement device easily outperforms its predecessor in terms of weight as well. Although a few individual components are quite heavy (e.g., the transformer), the total weight has also decreased by about 20% (from 11.2 kg to 8.5 kg).
Clearly visible signal lights are mounted on the upper part of the housing—a standard pulse signal (green) and a short-circuit signal (red), including an integrated audible alarm. The sound and lights can be heard or seen from almost any angle across the entire roof and are protected from damage by a sturdy steel clamp. In addition, the PD200 impulse current meter features an integrated short-circuit test.
- Green indicator light: lights up and beeps when a pulse is transmitted to the circuit
- Red indicator light: lights up and beeps in the event of a short circuit
The signal tone sounds only when the desired function is activated.
Possible applications:
- Non-destructive testing of membrane and bitumen roofs
- Accurate Leak Detection in Flat Seals
- Leak Detection on Flat Roofs with Ballast (e.g., gravel, landscaping, paving, etc.)
- It is also possible to detect leaks in capillaries, which cannot be detected using the flue gas method
Both intuitive and effective—quick leak detection made easy
The PD200 impulse current measurement system is the optimal solution for accurately locating grounded leaks in non-conductive sealing systems—such as bitumen, elastomer, PE-HD, or other plastic membranes.
The size and weight of the PD200 have once again been significantly reduced compared to its predecessor. As a result, the PD200 is not only 20% lighter, but also takes up 30% less space in the chassis, even though it still serves as a connector for all PD200 accessories!
In addition to the integrated Ergo retractable handle with an internal handle clamp, which ensures optimal support when carrying, the PD200 also features a carrying handle on the side.
Thanks to its user-friendly compact design and a transport clamp that provides an additional attachment option—for example, to ropes—the device can be easily transported even through narrow spaces, such as safety ladders leading to the roof.
Despite the reduction in weight, the PD200’s stability has been further improved by the fact that the body is now made of a lightweight, high-strength aluminum structure.
How the PD200 Pulse Current Works (Leak Detection)
In this method, a voltage is applied to the foil under test by attaching a ring seal with a negative terminal to the sealing surface and a ground wire with a positive terminal to the underside of the seal.
Surface moisture acts as a conductor for the electric current applied by the pulse generator; the direction of this current is detected by the measuring probes and displayed on the pulse receiver as an indication of the direction of the leak.
When using PD200, it does not matter whether the waterproofing is covered with crushed stone or landscaping; the only requirement is to ensure that the waterproofing layer is sufficiently wetted.
Advantages:
- Professional quality “made in Germany” — Original Troteci products
- Quick leak detection with an additional, clearly visible indicator light and an audible alarm that can be activated as needed
- Sturdy, splash-proof transport case design
- 20% lighter than the previous model
- 30% lower volume with the same content
- Stability was further improved thanks to the strong, lightweight aluminum-based construction
- Easy to transport, even through narrow spaces such as fire escapes
- Integrated short-circuit test, e.g., for checking safety devices
- Optional gravel nozzle with a ring head for easier installation and insertion under the roof ballast
- German industrial design optimized for practical use
The PD200 offers you a wide range of possible applications:
- Ideal for detecting grounded leaks in non-conductive sealing systems
- Non-destructive testing of membrane and bitumen roofs
- Leak Detection on Ballast-Covered Flat Roofs (e.g., gravel, vegetation, stones, etc.)
- Leak Testing of Floor Seals in LAU and HBV Systems (WHG)
Lightweight, durable, versatile—the PD200 reliably detects leaks in flat roofs, terraces, swimming pools, ponds, or landfill liners…
