Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on Disinfection
Are your active ingredients intended solely for disinfection?
No. They can be used for disinfection, odor neutralization, and mold removal.
Do your active ingredients eliminate viruses?
Yes. All Heylo disinfectants have limited virucidal activity.
Can Heylo oxidizing agents be used to disinfect hands?
No. These products are not intended for use on humans or animals.
Have your active ingredients been approved for treating mold?
Yes. All biocidal products must be approved by the BAUA (Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health).
We often renovate “messy apartments.” Can we reduce the odor before renovating to make the work more bearable?
Yes. The apartment should be sprayed with DRY ODOR CONTROL-Citrus beforehand and allowed to soak in for at least 24 hours. The odor won’t disappear completely, but it will be tolerable. After cleaning and treating the surfaces with WET ODOR CONTROL-Citrus, spray the area again with DRY ODOR CONTROL-Citrus before renovating.
Which active ingredient is effective for removing the smell of smoke?
As a general rule, any active ingredient suitable for neutralizing odors can be used to eliminate the smell of smoke. However, most of our clients use citrus-scented active ingredients for fire damage restoration: WET ODOR CONTROL-Citrus for surface treatment and DRY ODOR CONTROL-Citrus to increase coverage during the fogging process. The odor adheres to surfaces but dissipates shortly thereafter.
