FEATURES
Electric preheating or post-heating is available for cold climates. Units with enthalpy heat exchangers are available for use in hot and humid climates. Low-energy EC motors. Quiet operation.Supply air filtration is ensured by two built-in G4 and F8 filters (optionally H13). Can be supplemented with an exhaust duct to ensure air extraction from the bathroom. Easy installation.Compact size.
DESIGN
A metal housing with a polymer coating and an acrylic front panel. A 10 mm-thick layer of synthetic rubber provides thermal and sound insulation. The front panel offers convenient access for filter maintenance and is equipped with a lock for added security. The unit has two ∅ 100 mm pipes for fresh air intake and exhaust. A third ∅ 100 mm pipe (included in the delivery) can be installed on the unit to connect to the air duct leading out of the bathroom.
ENGINE
The units are equipped with high-efficiency electronically commutated (EC) motors featuring an external rotor and impellers with forward-curved blades. These state-of-the-art motors represent the most advanced solution in the field of energy efficiency today. EC motors are characterized by high performance and optimal control across the entire speed range. In addition, the efficiency of electronically commutated motors reaches impressive levels, up to 90%.
AIR CLAMPS
The unit is equipped with supply and exhaust air dampers that activate automatically to prevent drafts when the unit is turned off.
HEAT EXCHANGER
Freshbox 100 units are equipped with a counterflow heat exchanger with a polystyrene core.
During the cold season, heat from the exhaust air is captured and transferred to the supply air stream, which reduces heat loss due to ventilation. Condensate may form during heat recovery. The condensate collects in a drain pan and is removed from the exhaust air duct.
During the warm season, heat from the supply air is transferred to the exhaust air stream. This allows the supply air temperature to be significantly lowered, which in turn reduces the load on the HVAC system.
Freshbox 100 ERV units are equipped with a counterflow heat exchanger featuring an enthalpy membrane at its core.
During the cold season, heat and moisture from the exhaust air are transferred through the enthalpy membrane into the supply air stream, reducing heat loss caused by ventilation.
During the warm season, heat and moisture from the outside air are absorbed by the supply air flow through the enthalpy membrane. This lowers the temperature and humidity of the supply air, and the heat recovery reduces the load on the HVAC system.
AIR FILTRATION
G4 and F8 panel filters (PM2.5 > 75%) ensure that the supply air is purified. To meet stricter air purity requirements, the F8 filter can be replaced with an H13 filter (PM2.5 > 99%) (sold separately). Exhaust air is filtered by a G4 panel filter.
PREHEATING
Freshbox E-100 units are equipped with an electric preheater that protects the heat exchanger from freezing.
HEATING ELEMENT PROTECTION AGAINST CONDENSATE FREEZING
Operating in cold climates can cause condensation to freeze in the exhaust air duct and the outer casing. Therefore, to prevent freezing, it is recommended to install the EH Freshbox 100 (optional) heater (sold separately).
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
Cold outdoor air passes through the filters and the heat exchanger, and is then delivered into the space being serviced by a centrifugal supply fan.Warm, stagnant air from the interior spaces passes through a filter and a heat exchanger, and a centrifugal fan exhausts it.The supply and exhaust air flows are completely separated, which helps prevent the spread of odors or microbes between them.
