3-stage air purification and odor removal
A multi-stage, filter-based air purification system removes viruses, bacteria, pollen, dust mites, fungal spores, dust, and other airborne particles from the air in the room.
- Purification Level 1: The pre-filter removes large particles from the air in the room.
- Purification Level 2: A HEPA filter (97.97% efficiency) and an air-washing water tank remove particles as small as 0.3 µm from the air.

Air Humidification with Optional HEPA Air Filtration
The air humidification mode, with a capacity of 750 ml/h, can be selected with or without HEPA air purification. In addition, the air purification function can be set separately without humidification. The room air is humidified using the principle of natural cold evaporation without filter mats. Unlike ultrasonic or steam humidifiers, the evaporation process does not cause white spots (scale buildup) or wet spots in the room. Over-humidification of the air is also prevented. The comfort indicator on the control panel displays the current room humidity level, ranging from 20 to 60%. When the comfort zone (50% relative humidity) is reached, the unit automatically turns off the humidification.

The three-step active principle of air purification: cleaning, humidifying, and odor neutralization
The combination of three air purification processes and filtration through a multi-stage pre-filter and HEPA filter makes the AW 20 S air washer the undisputed leader in its class.
1. Cleaning Process: Air Washing Based on Natural Principles
Contaminated indoor air is naturally purified during the first cleaning cycle—without any chemical additives. To do this, the device draws in indoor air contaminated with particles and pollutants, directs it through a pre-filter to a rotating humidification disc, where the contaminated air is humidified with a water mist. Impurities such as pollen or dust stick to the damp glass and are washed away in the water bath by the natural cleansing power of tap water. A positive side effect of this natural air washing is the automatic humidification of the indoor air. The combined effect of air washing and humidification significantly improves the indoor climate and sense of well-being.
2. Cleaning Process: Dual HEPA Filtration
Using two HEPA filters in series removes airborne viruses, bacteria, fungi, mold spores, pollen, dust, and other pollutants as small as 0.3 µm, with a filtration efficiency of 97.97%.
3. Cleaning Process: Plasma Ionization
Plasma ionization, which can be activated as needed, initiates the subsequent purification process in accordance with nature’s own principles. Similar to a “purifying thunderstorm,” both positive ions (hydrogen) and negative ions (oxygen) are generated and blown into the room along with air that has been purified and humidified by a HEPA filter. The bioactive concentration of ions directly in the room air, forming so-called cobioions, causes water to be removed from them when they come into contact with pollutants present in the room air. This removes pollutants and odors from the indoor air.
Optimally humidified indoor air protects against viruses and pathogenic microbes
