The city is purchasing 400 air purifiers for schools and kindergartens

The City of Tartu is purchasing 400 air purifiers with filter systems for the city’s schools and kindergartens. At today’s meeting, the city government approved Pro Air OÜ’s bid, with a total cost of 192,480 euros, as the winning bid in the public procurement process for the purchase and installation of air purifiers with filter systems.

“Air purifiers help improve air quality and reduce airborne particles containing viruses, thereby helping to curb the spread of viral diseases,” said Deputy Mayor Priit Humal.

Air purifiers are being installed in educational institutions that lack a modern ventilation system. Similar filter-based air purifiers have previously been installed at Karlova School and Tõrukese Preschool, where positive feedback has been received regarding their performance.

The city aims to have air purifiers installed in schools and kindergartens by the end of September at the latest. The purchase and installation of the purifiers will be funded by a grant allocated by the Ministry of Education and Research for the improvement of ventilation systems.
