VX 5 MultiQube Insulation Layer Dryer
Which unit is suitable for which type of drying? This was already a thing of the past with the previous model, because the Trotec VX 5’s unique adaptronic power control makes thinking in terms of equipment classes practically unnecessary:
The VX 5 three-stage controllable turbo motor reaches up to 20,000 revolutions per minute and ensures maximum efficiency at every power level, because the integrated HiDry automatic system continuously monitors the air flow in m³ and automatically adjusts the unit to the optimal airflow velocity.
All it takes is the push of a button to switch the device to a higher performance class or, if necessary, to the optional whisper mode.
Energy consumption optimized for performance
Unlike the turbines in conventional side-channel compressors, the performance and energy consumption of the VX 5 MultiQube turbo motor are always directly correlated:
When the power level is reduced or the back pressure decreases, energy consumption decreases proportionally. Furthermore, performance is not controlled based on resistance, but is regulated to maintain the required flow rate.
Thanks to this technology, the VX 5 operates extremely efficiently compared to side-channel blowers, and—especially during the final drying phase—it operates in an energy-efficient Eco mode.
Always as much power as you need:
- Power Level 1:
corresponds to the power of a 0.8 kW side-channel compressor - Power Level 2:
The VX 5 is about 10% more powerful than a side-channel compressor with a power rating of 1.1–1.3 kW - Power Level 3:
Corresponds to 140% of the power of a 1.1 kW to 1.3 kW side-channel blower and 80% of the power of a 3 kW side-channel compressor.
HiDry – Always the most effective drying results, fully automatically
Enormous power alone is of little value without smart power management. On the contrary: excessive use only increases wear and tear and energy consumption. Nothing else. A consistently high airflow velocity in the areas where the insulation layer is being dried is less important than the motor power used to speed up the drying process.
For this reason, the new VX 5 is equipped with the innovative HiDry automatic control system, which does not adjust performance based on resistance, but rather based on the flow rate, thereby automatically ensuring the most efficient performance setting at every stage of the drying process.
Similar to a car’s “cruise control,” the sensor-supported HiDry automatic system continuously and dynamically adjusts the VX 5’s volumetric flow performance to the optimal level preset for the corresponding performance level.
At the beginning of the drying process, when the resistance is still relatively high, more motor power is required to maintain the volumetric flow rate; as drying progresses, the power requirement decreases steadily.
The HiDry control system ensures that the VX motor never produces more power than is necessary to maintain optimal airflow throughout the entire drying period.
Result: The fastest possible drying with minimal energy consumption!
Optiflow NT Multifunctional Display — A New Dimension in Illumination
Trotec VX 5 Insulation Layer Dryer: The Optiflow NT multifunctional display not only shows the current operating status and volumetric flow rate in plain text —even in the dark or from a distance—but the color of the display backlight also automatically indicates how effectively the drying air is flowing through your insulation layer.
A green screen indicates optimal airflow; orange indicates borderline conditions; and a red LED indicates that the airflow speed is insufficient for the area, so the installation needs to be optimized for faster drying.
