The dark heating element emits its pleasant infrared heat without using a brightly lit heating tube, which is otherwise visible in conventional infrared heaters. Instead, the radiator features a concealed stainless steel and aluminum heating coil—the heat source remains invisible. An ideal and elegant solution for outdoor areas where additional light would be disruptive—for example, because it conflicts with the existing lighting design.

Since the IRD 1200 emits its radiant energy primarily in the mid- and long-wave infrared spectrum, it is distributed evenly and precisely without heating the surrounding air.
