It cools in the summer and heats in the fall and spring. It also works in the winter when the outside temperature is below -25 C.
These high-quality air-source heat pumps, designed for Nordic conditions, feature a hot-gas defrost system that keeps the units operating efficiently year-round. It detects the need for defrost the outdoor unit to defrost when heat transfer capacity has decreased. Afterward, the indoor unit’s hot gas to a compartment chamber, where the frost on the coil begins to melt and the meltwater is drained from the unit. The units monitor the defrosting process and resume heating the house as soon as the chamber has thawed sufficiently.
