Problem: An air conditioner with an outdoor unit cannot be installed
In many buildings, it is not possible to use a standard split-system air conditioner because:

At the same time, the summer heat can make living and working spaces uncomfortable and affect sleep, work performance, and the indoor climate.

- less complex piping
- a modern and minimalist solution

POLO Manual
Smart Detector R290
The Smart Detector R290 sensor allows you to comply with the requirements of standard CEI EN IEC 60335-2-40:2024+A1:2024 and install Polo in particularly restricted environments, as shown in the following table.
| Installation Type | M2 without sensor R290 | M2 with sensor R290 |
|---|---|---|
| On the ground | 135 | 7 |
| On the wall: ” > ” 1.80 m | 12 | 7 |
The sensor is calibrated to detect leaks of any refrigerant gas starting at a concentration of 500 ppm, which is 40 times lower than the flammable gas concentration defined in the R290 standard (LFL – lower flammability limit). In the event of a leak, the sensor’s LED flashes, emits an audible alarm at regular intervals, and activates a procedure to ensure the safety of the environment and the equipment: the compressor is shut off and the interior is ventilated at maximum speed for 5 minutes. A fan connected to the outside environment is activated cyclically to quickly remove any traces of refrigerant gas.
Installation Notes
- It is recommended to install the sensor in the lowest part of the Polo, such as on the underside.
- The sensor does not need to be recalibrated, as it calibrates itself.
