PCE-LDC 8 Ultrasonic Leak Detector
Leak detector for compressed air lines / easy to use / operating frequency 40 kHz /
Detecting a leak using headphones / a rugged device / a battery
A leak detector is used to detect leaks in compressed air lines. A leak detector can also be used to detect leaks in coolant or gas lines. This leak detector is equipped with an ultrasonic sensor capable of accurately detecting leaks in air lines. The leak detector’s ultrasonic sensor operates at a frequency of 40 kHz. This means that the leak detector is calibrated to the average frequency emitted by leaks in compressed air lines. This falls within the range of 20–80 kHz. The leak detector’s high-pass filter ensures that all noise with frequencies of < 40 kHz is filtered out to enable better leak detection. An amplifier integrated into the leak detector ensures that the high-frequency sounds received by the ultrasonic sensor are audible through noise-canceling headphones.
In addition to the acoustic detection of leaks in compressed air lines, the leak detector displays the intensity of the ultrasonic signal on the screen. The leak detector’s sensor features a laser pointer to help pinpoint the location of pipes or pressure vessels. A tube can also be attached to the sensor to aid in precise leak detection. With the leak detector, the user can safely locate a leak from a distance of up to 18 meters, depending on the operating pressure in the piping system. The leak detector is powered by a rechargeable battery, which provides up to 6 hours of operation. The leak detector is shipped in a sturdy carrying case with all accessories included.
