The trial took place from August through November 2018. The preschool has ten classes with 150 children; air purifiers were installed in five of these classes, with a total of two purifiers in each class. Statistics were collected in all classes to compare sick leave rates.    <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The purpose of the study was to determine whether air purifiers could reduce the number of sick days among preschool-aged children. Children in all departments were sick, regardless of whether they had air purifiers or not. Staff were instructed to record every sick day for all children and, whenever possible, to record only sick days related to airborne illnesses. Therefore, they did not include injuries, scrapes, eye or ear infections, or similar illnesses.   <\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 1280px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-41906-1\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"http:\/\/proair.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/coway-storm-air-purifier-test.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/proair.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/coway-storm-air-purifier-test.mp4\">http:\/\/proair.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/coway-storm-air-purifier-test.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Result<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The test showed that sick leave in departments equipped with air purifiers was nearly 20% lower than in those without them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There were a total of 323 days of absences in the five departments equipped with air purifiers<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">417 days of absences in the five departments without air purifiers *<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">* One department without air purifiers was not included in the 16-week period. Therefore, it should be assumed that the number of days affected is greater than 417. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Coway Storm AP-1516D was used for this test.
